A VERY Happy Day!

I promise that I have good intentions.  Truly.  :-)
Life is such a wild ride! It has been a crazy few months, but I will fill in later :-) For right now, I just want to write about our firstborn, David William. 

Two years ago today, the sweetest, most wonderful baby boy was born into this world!  Oh, all the new feelings motherhood. It felt as if the floodgates of heaven had opened up and poured onto me in the form of 6 tiny pounds. I remember thinking moments after his first breath that "this is it, I truly know my purpose." And I was terrified. Terrified yet empowered at the same time. I would die for this little babe. No one can prepare you for how much your heart expands for children... it was such a profound experience for me. But oh, then I looked at his Daddy <3 His face spoke a thousand words and was in total awe. Talk about a proud moment in our new life together. Just wow. 

God is SO good!
Not much has changed since that day :) David still amazes us with his loving character & tender heart. He has brought us more joy than I could have ever imagined. He is such a sweet little person.

 We love him so much!

I never shared photos from his birth, so here are just a few, two incredibly short years later :-)

David was born on Thursday, March 1st 2012. 

 

 We did ALOT of this. Cody was (and still is) my biggest supporter & greatest friend. I love him so much. And those hands on my back? Those are the loving hands of Karen, our wonderful midwife, mentor & dear friend. I don't know what we would do without her!

 After laboring for 68 hours, we were incredibly overjoyed & relieved that David was FINALLY HERE! Born at 4:14pm and in the very comfort of our home <3
Weighing 6lbs and 20 3/4 inches long.

  That. Right there. I just adore Codys expression.

 

 

So, so happy <3

When David was a day old, my sister-in-law, Emily, took these photos! I love going back and remembering these moments. I am so thankful to her for capturing them. <3

11 days, 3 months and 6 months...

 6 months <3

 He is such a ham!

12 months passed ever so quickly...

1 year old!
